What is AI readiness?

AI readiness measures whether your business has the data, security, and governance in place to adopt AI safely and get real value from it. The biggest risks of AI are not the tools themselves, they are messy data, weak access controls, and no policy for how staff use it. Readiness is about fixing those foundations first.

This assessment scores seven signals across three areas, data and foundations, security and governance, and people and strategy, and places you on one of three levels:

  1. 1 Not yet ready

The foundations for safe AI are not in place yet, adopting now would add risk.

  2. 2 Foundations forming

You have a base to build on, a guided plan keeps adoption safe and useful.

  3. 3 AI ready

You are well positioned to adopt AI safely and get real value quickly.

Questions

What is AI readiness?
AI readiness measures whether your business has the data, security, and governance in place to adopt AI safely and get real value from it, rather than adding risk.
How is the AI readiness score calculated?
You answer seven yes or no statements across three areas, data and foundations, security and governance, and people and strategy. Each yes adds to a score out of 100 that places you in one of three readiness levels.
Why does AI readiness matter?
The biggest risks of AI are not the tools, they are messy data, weak access controls, and no policy for how staff use it. Readiness is about fixing those foundations first.
Do I need technical knowledge to take it?
No. The questions are about how your business operates and governs data, not the technology itself. It takes about two minutes.
What should I do after I get my result?
Each level comes with two or three specific next steps. The fastest way to act on them is a first appointment with a bdManagedIT strategist, who maps them to a plan.
Can bdManagedIT help us adopt AI?
Yes. We get your data, security, and governance foundations right, then help you pilot AI on high-value, low-risk workflows with guardrails in place.
