How is MDM different from EDR or antivirus?

MDM manages and secures the device itself, enrollment, configuration, policies, and remote wipe. EDR and antivirus watch for and stop threats running on the device. They solve different problems and work best together, and bdManagedIT provides both.

What happens if a device is lost or stolen?

We lock or wipe it remotely so company data cannot be accessed, and because the device is encrypted, the data stays protected even before the wipe completes. On a personal device, we remove only company data and leave the rest untouched.

Can employees use their own phones for work?

Yes. MDM supports bring-your-own-device by keeping company email and data in a separate, managed container. You can secure or wipe the work data if the person leaves or loses the phone without ever touching their personal photos or apps.
